Mumbai. Veteran industrialist and honorary chairman of Tata Group Ratan Tata (86) is no more. He breathed his last in Mumbai on 9 October. Ratan Tata led the Tata Group as the chairman of Tata Sons, a company ranging from salt to software, from March 1991 to December 2012. Tata Group is a major pillar of Indian industry and its contribution is highly significant not only in the Indian but also in the global economy. It is spread across various sectors of industries, such as steel, energy, automotive, information technology and garments. The foundation of Tata Group was laid by Jamshed ji Tata in 1868 and since then various chairmen of Tata Group have played an important role in taking it to new heights
