Chennai. A red alert has been issued in many parts of Tamil Nadu regarding the cyclonic storm ‘Fengal’ formed over the Bay of Bengal. Cyclone Fengal will hit the coast between Karaikal in Puducherry and Mahabalipuram district of Tamil Nadu by Saturday evening (November 30, 2024). According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the wind speed can reach 90 kmph during this period. Due to its effect, heavy rains are expected in the coastal areas. All schools and colleges will remain closed on Saturday due to the storm. Along with this, people have also been advised not to leave the house.
