The ’wall canopy’ concept evolved from the awning one. It appeared from the need of something more durable, and something that works better with the modern architecture and design. Awnings are typically made out of textile materials (cotton, polyester), and they are only attached to the building. While a canopy is a structure on itself, which can be attached to the wall. And, its roof is made out of stronger materials (glass). Therefore, it is way more durable, and it looks more classic.
