Australia replaced the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement with the Genuine Student (GS) requirement on 23 March 2024 for the Subclass 500 student visa. Instead of a 300-word GTE statement, students now answer specific visa questions to show they are genuine students and that their course aligns with their academic background and future plans, along with meeting higher English language requirements.
