The chiropractor will examine the patient before establishing the diagnosis and method of treatment. He will take the anamnesis, carry out an orthopaedic and neurological consultation, and determine the type of pain the patient is dealing with. Depending on the symptoms and their nature, lower back pain can be: • Acute – if it persists for less than six weeks, • Subacute – if it persists between 6-12 weeks, • Chronic – if it persists for at least 12 months, • Recurrent – symptoms reoccur occasionally.
